This course is an approved child protection training course required by government protocol and applies to workers in a range of job roles providing services to children and young people in childcare, education, community services, and health

By completing this online course, you will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to identify, respond to, support, and protect children and young people who may be at risk of harm.

+ ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

An individual undertaking this course with Allens Training Pty Ltd will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:

Must meet English and LLN requirements. The Training Package clearly states:

Reading – to read and understand forms and to make accurate reports

Writing – to accurately record details of children and young people at risk and to make reports using handwritten skills and computer skills

Communication – to communicate appropriately and effectively with children and young people who disclose sensitive information

+ COURSE DURATION

5 hours This can be completed over a number of sessions. Your course progress will be saved. You will have access to his course for 6 months upon enrolment

+ ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

No industry recommended renewal is identified on the certificate, employers are recommended to consult with stakeholders to identify appropriate training periods.

  • Complete 2 simulated scenarios

  • Child/young person at risk disclosure

  • Child/young person at risk signs reporting

    Documentation:

• Locate Policies and Procedures in the workplace

• Complete two incident report forms

Theory assessment - An exam consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must complete all assessment questions.
